Skamania EDC Announces 2026 Scholarship Recipients
Skamania EDC is proud to announce this year’s scholarship recipients: Jewel Waymire and Kate Monaghan. These scholarships recognize local students who demonstrate dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to building bright futures for themselves and their communities
Jewel Waymire
"I am an individual who strives to understand and learn. I work hard to make sure that I am. coachable while still making sure I know what to do in any situation. Having these abilities is something that fills me with pride and I am. happy to make impactful decisions for the good of myself and my communities. I plan on working in a field where I can continue to reach out to my community and build positivity within it."

Kate Monaghan
"While attending school I wanted to start challenging myself more than what was offered, so I decided to take part in the Running Start Program my Junior and Senior year. With this push I have been given the opportunity to earn college credits, and I will be graduating High School with my associate’s degree. This has been a challenge but has helped prepared me for the hard work and dedication the comes with working in the Nursing field. I’m grateful for this opportunity and will continue to apply its lessons to my future academic and work career."
Skamania EDC congratulates both recipients and wishes them continued success as they pursue their education and career goals. We are proud to support local students and celebrate the next generation of leaders in Skamania County.
